Growing together
There was a piece in which African Americans starting talking about where they came from and they started talking about their rural background and growing up on the farm and how they missed that. And then the Latinos started talking about the same thing coming from a rural background. And I remember an African American woman that actually started crying because she saw the connection between both groups and had so much in common.

A shared interest in the land led to a community garden.
One African American neighbor plowed with his tractor, another gave water from his hose. Latino kids helped plant and keep away the weeds. All shared in a harvest of food and friendship.
