Changing Places Dialogue

Facilitated dialogue programs were offered in conjunction with the Changing Places exhibit.

Speaking of Change Adult Dialogue

Speaking of Change is a 2.5 hour experience that included an exhibit visit, time for reflection, and a facilitated conversation. Designed for adult groups of 12 to 20 individuals from an organization, dialogues are for all types of groups, such as management teams, workgroups, civic, not-for-profit organizations, plus faith-based, grassroots and newcomer groups. Led by a professional facilitator, the experience helped connect your group in new ways and increased awareness of what it means to be inclusive as an individual, an organization and a community.

Don Jonas, Vice President of Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, shared: "Our Foundation team had the great pleasure of going through Speaking of Change at the Levine Museum yesterday. What a wonderful experience! I felt like we had a rich, meaningful dialogue... Thanks to you all for bringing this to Charlotte and for allowing groups like ours the opportunity to learn and stretch ourselves."

Thanks to a grant from Foundation For The Carolinas in support of Crossroads Charlotte, the first 60 not-for-profit and community-based groups payed ONLY a registration fee of $25 per exhibit visit and dialogue session.

Turn the Tables Teen Dialogue

Teens were able to be part of a Changing Places teen dialogue experience and "Turn the Tables" ... they talked, listened and learned from each other as they explored themes from the exhibit, including stereotypes and the cultural transformation occurring in the region. The 2 hour group experience for youth and teens included an exhibit visit and facilitated discussion focused on stereotypes in a changing community. Groups consisted of up to 30 individuals ages 12 years and older. The dialogues are designed for all types of youth and teen groups, such as clubs, camps, ministries, service groups, alliances and community organizations.
