Being from New Orleans, everything we do is centered around food. It's just a part of us. We cook from the heart.
- Martine Johnson
After Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans, Martine Johnson and her family fled to Charlotte. It's hard to cook their beloved New Orleans specialties here. Many ingredients are costly and hard to find. But the family does its best, especially on special occasions like Father's Day.
